Mirch Masala Indian Cuisine
Honestly, who goes here? The food is mediocre, the location is terrible, and the nobody likes sitting in a restaurant as the only table. Go to Xiao wang fu or the elephant instead…. If you’re heart is bent on Indian food then go to Sanlitun where you have no fewer than 4 different Indian restaurants to choose from.

The weekend brunch menu works for me just right. Good coffee, sumptous food.
If the weather is good one can choose the seating outside.

Toni & Guy
Just had a haircut at the Hotel Hilton salon of this brand and there is a lady Scarlet(i hope I am right).
She is good. She knows her job, asks the right questions and know how to deal with expats.
So far my best haircut in Beijing.

TERRA
While we have been a quite fan of Almeda and then Salt, this particular venture should make sure the food is always best.It needs improvement in half its dishes. We ordered 9 dishes and half of them were great, half were not what we have got from Salt or Almeda before ! I went in after 2 weeks of opening as I knew there would be kinks initially.
The service is still fine but food needs perfection. I dont want to talk too much detail and have given the detailed feedback to the staff out there .
We love Gabby and want this to be as good as the previous ventures.

The Stumble Inn
Amazing.
I have been drinking enough in my life and this place made me think, hey I havent tried this beer and that.
Lovely eats, good live sports, attentive service.
This place will beat all bars and sports bars is my guess.
They have paid attention to all details .With Australian and English pub grub too, this is going to be my place to spend most of my free time .

Kamat's Indian Restaurant
Ah, good Indian food goes great with a glass of Guinness! Okay, so if your palette is not as flexible as mine, you will still enjoy Kamat's.

I went here for lunch on a weekday with my colleagues, who wanted a departure from Pizza Hut as much as I did. They have a great buffet; very affordable for unlimited everything: perhaps dozens of curry dishes, jasmine rice, naan, and even includes a soft drink.

Shockingly, the place was empty when I got there, which made me sad as the chef and staff watched our entire move, waiting to see our verdict.

No more sadness was to be found, though, as I can say with confidence that - especially for the price - the food was good. Paneer tikka masala, chicken jalfrenzy, etc. were all great. The naan was not fantastic, though perhaps it was just a bad batch; I'm definitely going here again and giving it another try.

Oh, and as we were leaving, a bunch of Indian people came into the restaurant. I breathed a sigh of relief at this ultimate sign of local acceptance.

Hopefully, Kamat's can stick around; I'd love to come here again! Definitely come for the lunch buffet; though I'm sure the dinner is just as delicious, the price for the lunch is unmatchable in the area.

Enoteca
I don't understand the infatuation with this place.

I went here on a date, and from the reviews, was expecting a quiet, Spanish restaurant/bar/lounge with good tapas and good service. Well, let me tell you, the reviews aren't exactly descriptive enough.

I will warn you that I did not have any wine to drink, so this review is solely based on the food here.

First of all, this isn't a place to get food. The wine list is dozens of pages long, and the food section is at the very back of the menu, like an afterthought (foreshadowing alert). We came hungry and left slightly less hungry and much more broke. The food's taste is okay, but the portions are tiny and the price is expensive. Think Yank Sing in San Francisco without the food actually being good.

Secondly, this restaurant is located in the middle of a giant set of stairs overlooking a giant courtyard full of people. The place itself is tiny with big glass windows looking at the courtyard (a double edged sword), and when I went, the restaurant was deserted except for two people just drinking wine. It's not a private place whatsoever; I think terrible for a date, because people outside stare inside and sit on the stairs adjacent to the open restaurant doors.

It's not by any means "quiet." I don't know when that reviewer came to Enoteca. There was Mandopop music blaring outside along with a ceiling television, and tons of children having fun (read: running around and screaming). The restaurant itself didn't even attempt to drown this out with some classy Spanish music (my date was befuddled at the lack of ethnically appropriate music, which should be a no-brainer). Throw me a bone; at least give me some Gypsy Kings or bossa-nova.

I can go deeper into the food itself. The waiter had no idea for tapas recommendations; he claimed he had never tried any of the food. We ordered the chef's platter, a three-tomato salad, and a sandwich. The salad came out first. It was okay I suppose, but not like I'll shell out 45 RMB for another one.

The chef's platter was more imaginative, but still not much food for 100 and whatever RMB. Beware: there are exactly two of each little appetizer, which worked out for my situation, but in a party of more than two - which most parties are - you may be fighting over dishes. Well, in the case of this food, you may not.

Finally the panini sandwich. Terrible comes to mind. With all of those ingredients back there in the kitchen, you'd think making a rich, delicious sandwich would be easy. With only two patrons in the restaurant, you'd think the chef might put a little flair into it. Nope. The only ingredients I could make out were bread, an olive spread, and a few paltry thin slices of meat. The bread wasn't too fresh, and the sandwich came out warm, not hot. Lame.

"Why my review is an anomaly" // AKA "How to convert my score into the others"

All in all, I wouldn't shut the place down. It has potential as a bar, and a bar only.

If you drink a bunch of wine, maybe the food tastes good; add a star. If you don't, it doesn't. That's simple.

If you make a Western salary, the prices and portions really don't matter, so you can add another star.

If you come here in a big, loud group and like to people watch outside the window, add a star.

If you don't mind the fact that nothing about this restaurant is Spanish besides the name, add a half-star.

There you go, 4.5 stars. Just pretend there aren't tons of competing establishments, and go here!
