Enoteca’s new location on the 4th(?) floor of tongli patio is a big step up from the perch they occupied in The Place. It’s bigger and airier and feels like a wine bar. In fact, from the first moment I stepped in the door I knew it was a wine bar. Not to criticize others around town, but I sometimes don’t get that feeling when I walk into their shops. The good news is that Enoteca still has all of the great tapas and the management has remained intact. Even better news is that there are now more bottles on sale so we no longer need to go to Jenny Lou or April Gourmet to get an overpriced bottle of wine that came over land in a hot shipping container. Perhaps the best news of all is how easy it will be to get a taxi (The Place was impossibly difficult)
I originally wanted to give Entoteca 5 stars but as it just opened I'm being a bit cautious. 4.5

As rooftop bars go, this one is about as good as they get. The terrace is well designed for larger groups yet has seating and tables that also work well for couples or smaller gatherings. Servers are knowledgeable about the wine they poach. Prices are very reasonable. Very happy to recommend!

I would recommend this rooftop over Fez and Migas if you like wine and or have more than 5-6 friends in your group. Bench seating goes the perimeter of the rooftop and there are high tables in the center but a considerable amount of space has been reserved for standing. This is certainly key if you arrive late and find yourself without a table. Lighting is mostly table top candle and the single row of lights in the floor. Music is loungey and perfect for conversation. Good view in three directions with the northern direction all but destroyed by 3.3 billboard. All in all one of the best rooftops in Sanlitun.

I went there several times with friends, This is a very nice wine bar, with a good list of wine. We ate there several times, was good but last time good was not so good. The salmon tartar was not fresh, even dry... and the crepes for the dessert where not good at all ( too sweet) then I will go there again for the wine but not for the food |

What’s not to like about this wine bar. It’s better than any else in the area, has a very appetizing menu, the service is courteous and prompt even when it’s busy, and the prices are very reasonable. No other wine bar in Beijing measures up.

Two great deals that I have personally experienced that localnoodles readers should know about: the happy two for one happy hour is every day until 8 and the 200rmb bottle of wine with free tapas deal on Friday. Both are great deals with the Friday night deal being my favorite.

I think the guys know what they are doing. The new location in Sanlitun is much more accessible (think taxies any time of the night) and the decor is super nice. The place feels much more spacious than the previous location and the stress is really on wines. For sure having toilet on site is a huge improvement from before. On the wine side not much has changed. The same decent prices and big selection and according to the staff, they are keeping their popular Friday Wine Fever deal. On the food side there have been some changes to the menu and while they don't have the salmon spring rolls and eggplant filo pie anymore (two of my favorites before), i really liked their coconut&lemongrass chicken skewers. They were really simple but the flavor and texture were great. Another dish we liked was teh veggie creme brule. A nice salty version of the french desert came with a parmesan crust (instead of caramel) and creamy veggie interior. I definetely recommend the new location.
