The best part of this place is you dont get disturbed, whether you are talking with your friend or your business partner. The lounge takes care, its spacious. While I usually choose from the huge wine options, the cocktails are done well ,my friends tell me. Good place to chill out and talk to someone.

I tried this place out last week and had a good time. The pro's are the environment (where the sexy people go), decor, and some of the food...the con's are the prices and some of the food. This place is definately sensual and the decor is very imposing, but in a good way. Much of it is brought from Thailand and really makes for a memorable experience. I wasn't really sure about the plethora of cuisines offered here (hala moroccan, indian, chinese, thai), but when I found out there was four separate kitchens, it made me feel alittle better. We ordered a ton of food (which came with a hefty price tag--95rmb for pad thai?). The appetizer platter, pad thai and soups were just ok--fairly unremarkable. I did enjoy the chicken in cashews, although it seems to be localezed with a morst sticky sauce than the real thai version. The fried soft shell crab was awesome--alittle steep at 148RMB, but still delicious with a light crispy crust and tangy dipping sause. We also tried the shrimp balls in a savory sauce with mushrooms. The shrimp balls were redolent with chunks of shrimp and a meaty texture. This place if definately priced for a foriegn budget, but the decor and food are unique for the Jing--I'll be back.

For the nightout on last week we went to the Face Bar. We were at the Bar and had few cocktails for a change since the barman was skillful. We loved the Mojitho. There were many options for dinner and I had never eaten Indian food but heard about it , so we tried the Indian Restaurant there. We were recommended Samosas, once they arrived they were cold .Dont know why? because we were so hungry we eat them up fast. Then we could not find the manager , as we wanted to talk to him only then and then place the order. He arrived after a cool 10 minutes. He recommended Tandoori Chicken. We said Ok. This arrived hot but it had burning smell. They had burnt it and it was just not nice.Firstly the restaurant is so dark, one cant see things properly, even the food.It was quite cold in the restaurant too as we had removed our jackets and wore it again because the it was getting cold. The other recommendation was some Rice with chicken. This was the only one from which i could get some satisfaction. The breads recommended were so so .(they had too got cold) The final blow came when we asked for chaque-it was 300 something for the little things we eat. There was another 2 foreigners ,typical foreigners who had ordered lot of food. The bar is good , we loved the drinks though they were slighly expensive but had good quality and the environment was nice and warm and beautiful., but the food here was awful just no value for money. It could be good for the rich Foreigners who for what reasons dine at such expensive restaurants dont know.? I also found the the waiters not friendly I wont visit here. Others may try.

Face never disappoints and offers a memorably cultured experience often lacking in other similar establishments, especially some of the Shanghai imports. Great care has been taken in creating a decadent yet luxurious interior that blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with a Balinese style wooden and stone fixtures. The food, which can take many forms, is always first class, as is the service. The large bar area is separated from the dining rooms, which extend upstairs. This allows for a group to eat in a smoke free environment before moving into the lounge area. About 11pm the crank up the toons which stay within the confines of commercial deep house tunes and never veer off into cheesy hip hop land. face is one of the first restaurants I was invited to when I moved here and made a first impression on me of what was to follow: Beiing has its own style that is sophisticated without being pretentious.

Go to Face when you want to impress and as the other reviewers said, escape. The cocktails are expertly made and I can’t help but feel like I’m on the top of some hotel looking down at the city below when I’m lounging in one of the leather chairs surrounded by hues of red and yellow. I’m not much of a pool player so the table doesn’t do much for me however it’s a great way to get my guy friends to come along. If that doesn’t do it then their happy hour should. During the summer months, outside patio is one of my favorite places to hang with friends late at night.

Face is one of the places where you can "escape" Beijing and slow down. May it be having drinks indoor or outdoor, its a great place to relax, enjoy your drinks and talk to friends. They have a wide selection (Beijing standard) of single malt whiskey's and serve ice cold beers with a smile. The pool table and cues have seen better days though. But its free

If it wasn't for the odd location, I would be at Face more often. Great vibe going on here with even better food and drinks. Perfect for a laid back evening with friends.

Face was the first place friends from work took me when I came to Beijing, and it had a lot to do with why I decided to stay (well, I didn't really have a choice). After being overwhelmed by all the highrises and traffic, Face is truly refreshing. Hidden just off the street, it is a quiet respite from busy Beijing. An outdoor seating area is sheltered by a wall of bamboo, and a little canal with fishies in it gives it a garden-like feeling. The drinks menu has a pricey list of cocktails and some imported (including Belgian!) beers. My friends love the martinis, but one of my friends insists that his martini be made only by Austin, one of the nice bartenders. If you choose the indoors, there are comfortable chairs with a great pan-Asian decor (carved wood, Buddhas). It has a very comfortable yet high-end lounge feeling - you would never know the building used to be a school. A great place to take friends from out of town.

When I'm in the mood for outside seating, addictive spicy popcorn, a game of pool, and the feeling of "Escape Beijing" I return to Face Bar. Happy hour here means: * 2 for 1 on basic spirits (Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Gin) * Popcorn included * Hors d'oeuvres included Margaritas - Though basic and cheap in the states, Margaritas are not included in Face Bar's happy hour. I know, I know, Margaritas are a tequila with a dash of triple sec and margarita mix, so why not a happy hour drink. Take that up with the owner, I don't get it either. BUT, the margaritas at Face Bar are delicious and the best I've had in Beijing. 10% Service Charge - Strangely, there is a 10% service charge which I deem pointless as it doesn't serve as any incentive to provide better service. The wait staff here are always courteous and kindly refill my popcorn bowl without fail. Personally, I'd prefer to give a tip on behalf of myself rather than give a 10% service charge unlikely to reach the wait staff.
