| Mistaken review here... they used to have a location over near Jenny Lou's inside the french bakery next door. it has since moved on it seems. side note: isender claims that they deliver kebab republic, however it is really just Istanbul. While Istanbul (not Constantinople) is rather damn good... it's not exactly Kebab Republic, which is rather annoying that they advertise it that way. Specifically speaking of Kebab Republic though, I need to get back to them to see how they are now. They used to be not the best, but damn good at the right time, in a somewhat convenient place, cheap and the sauces they had basically made the kebab a thing of pure deliciousness. Curious to see if the guy from the bakery place is still with them, as he was incredibly awesome in his explanation of how HE and HE alone was halal in his little corner of the shop, while the rest of bakery was an abomination. |

Hey the 'a hole' kebab place is back, its been trying in its absence although fish nation has dutifully filled in by providing that late night fast food option when you've had too much to drink in sanlitoon.
For some reason I ordered 3 donna's last nite having forgotten, at the time at least, that one donna will fill you up just fine. For 30rmb its a good deal and they do a good job of it- there is meat that tastes like lamb in it, and other stuff i can never remember what it is but seems like lettuce and some mayo- its the size of big burrito and the wrap was nicely done- during the day i would'nt take on a kebab, mainly because the meat carousel worries me-whats in it, where does it go after hours and how old is it. always worth a try late a night |

Not so great... The bread is not very good, the meat is ok and well for a simple kebab (very different from the one you find in france for instance) I honestly think it's very expensive !
You would have to be very drunk and hungry to actually enjoy a kebab there.
In their defense I have to say that I think the pizzas and french fries are very good |

| Ordinarily mines a delicately, discerning palate, but sometimes, say after the third Yanjing, I want to be overwhelmed. And then there is nothing else for it but a Donner Kebab from Kebab Republic. They tell you it’s lamb, but I’m sure it’s more mystery meat than anything else. Either way I don’t much mind… there’s a little lamb and a little spice and a little bit of magic. The wrap’s are admiral and do just enough to hold everything together for the 14 minutes 36 seconds it takes to gobble the whole thing down. Good and all as those things are, the Donner kebab wouldn’t be worth talking about if it wasn’t for the wonderful sauces that smother the meat. I swear they use paintball guns to apply the sauces. There’s no other way they could pack in so much flavour. There’s lettuce and tomato in there too so that all food groups are covered. And all this for 25 kuai! |
