Chef-at-work located in the very heart of the Hutong area near HouHai and presented as an amazing cosy mini-courtyard. Just as its name sounds like, the place is all about tutorial on traditional chinese cooking and food culture. More over, the cooking starts from the very basic move and completes with a proper meal within just only several steps. I am definitely going to love cooking if Chinese cooking is as simple as that! Easy, and delicious! By the way, I just love the two beautiful ladies in Chef-at-work. They are genuinely nice people! |

I really enjoyed myself when I was at Chef-at-work. I can say that everyone had fun and learned a lot!The chef was patient, and very passionate about food and her culture. I'm sure that I will come back again.
I had an absolutely wonderful cooking experience. Highly Recommended! |

So after your tourist mates have spent days traipsing round the sights of Beijing and you have sent them to every temple you can think of -what next?
Myself, Becky and Pete had a fab morning cooking to our little hearts content at Chef at Work. Cindy had it so well organised - an introduction to all the main ingredients then a chopping lesson (note we all survived with all fingers still intact) before finally getting some wok action.
All in all can't rate it enough. Yeah it is a little pricey - but to be honest there were no grumbles from us as it was really worth it. Even those without much culinary aptitude will enjoy. |

Cindy is a very nice Western educated Chinese woman who has created a comfortable environment to learn authentic Chinese food cooking methods.
