Get your Kungfu on while downing surprisingly good food in this smallish restaurant. I’ve been two different locations so far and this is the better one. Everywhere there are signs of kungfu this and that – swords on the walls, calligraphy posters, and tea pots with large spouts that the agile servers toss behind their backs to pour you a glass. There is even a rudimentary kungfu demonstration but it’s nothing like those you’ll see at the Shaolin Temple. Almost everything on the menu requires some sort of explanation so make sure you consult the wait staff before ordering. The Dali Pork shank is one of their specialties (if it isn’t it should be) and is a must order. We were very pleased with the rice covered meat balls with cooked egg yolk in the middle and the koushui fish. Actually, until this restaurant I didn’t even know there was a koushui fish dish. It’s as good as the koushui chicken so often ordered around town. The Lamb mixed with toufu was good but after everything else we had was a bit much. Restaurant is as inexpensive and chaotic as most around town but with a stronger emphasis on their theme and food.
