I have been trying to be inspired of late in relation to the planning of my son's birthday party. But trying to be inspired never works. Inspiration just comes. And, as it wasn't just coming, I've decided to go with a tried and tested formula (i.e. same as last year) - party food provided by outside chef who takes care of shopping and food preparation, plus clown/magician whose catchphrase is A Si Ba La Non (in a kind of Chinese/French accent). Last year, I luckily had a namecard for the clown/magician guy, Mr Liu, as he was at another event I went to, but this year I almost couldn't find him due to poor filing of namecards (i.e. no system whatsoever). I therefore write about Mr. Liu, in an attempt to preserve his details for other mums who need a good focus for a kid's party, as well as myself. His show lasts an hour and is hilarious. It includes an amazing trick where he produces goldfish in water from a cushion cover which really appeared to be empty. He is a true gem in a funny costume. In fact, last year, the adults enjoyed his show more than the kids - one adult in particular. His wife can also do face/hand painting for an extra charge (spiders, pandas, lizards, bunnies and so on...). Go on, give him a call.....
